We are a multi-disciplinary group of neurosurgeons and pain management interventionists that are affiliated with the Department of Neurological Surgery of Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Sathi obtained his B.S. Neuroscience with high distinction in research, summa cum laude and was salutatorian of his graduating class at the University of Rochester (1985). He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He finished his M.D. at Harvard Medical School (1989) in Boston, MA and continued his interest in the neurosciences by training in neurosurgery.

Dr. Steven P. Leon is a board certified neurosurgeon with specialization in spinal surgery. He completed a spinal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery, a Neurological Surgery Residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital (Harvard Program) and graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School.
He treats spinal tumors, trauma, infection, deformity and degenerative diseases. He offers both operative and non-operative treatments. Skills range from minimally-invasive surgery/treatment to complex spinal reconstruction.

Dr. Meeru Sathi-Welsch received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and M.D. degree from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She then pursued her surgical internship and anesthesia residency training at the Harvard Program at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. With her long term interest in neuroscience, she became interested in the new advances in the specialty of pain management.
She spent one year at MD Anderson Cancer Center learning about cancer pain and at Baylor and University of Texas hospitals learning about nonmalignant pain while doing a fellowship in pain management. Dr. Meeru Sathi-Welsch also trained with Dr. Joseph Helms at University of California, Los Angeles, learning acupuncture for physicians.
